Kevin Paulsen folk art painting – Boston Baked Beans Delivered, folding screen

A whimsical and historically inspired painting by American folk artist Kevin Paulsen, known for his hand-painted narratives that blend Americana with wit and charm.

This large-scale panel painting, rendered in Paulsen’s signature primitive style, depicts a rustic country scene: a horse-drawn cart delivering a great pot of Boston Baked Beans to a welcoming homestead. The scene is framed with bold lettering reading “Boston Baked Beans Delivered to Any Strangers Resort”, a playful nod to 19th-century advertising and early New England traditions. Paulsen’s work recalls the spirit of itinerant painters and sign-makers of early America, yet with a contemporary humor that makes his pieces highly collectible. His paintings often blur the line between fine art and folk art, appealing to both Americana enthusiasts and modern collectors alike.
