Antique hand-painted Federal style settee with cane Seat

This charming antique settee, dating to the early 19th century, is a fine example of Federal period craftsmanship with hand-painted decoration. The frame is painted a deep green with delicate gilt and floral details across the backrest and stretchers, showcasing the refined neoclassical style of the era. The graceful scrolled arms and turned legs add elegance, while the X-form back splats with painted medallions highlight its decorative appeal.

The long caned seat, recently restored, provides both beauty and function, making this piece perfect for a hallway, entryway, or sitting room. Signs of age, including light wear to the painted surface, add to its authentic patina and charm.
