English oak slant top writing desk late 19th century

This handsome antique American slant-front desk dates to the early 19th century and showcases rich craftsmanship in solid oak with a deep, timeworn patina. The fall-front writing surface opens to reveal a beautifully detailed interior fitted with multiple small drawers, pigeonholes, and hidden compartments—ideal for organizing letters, documents, or collectibles.

The case features two deep drawers below, each adorned with oval brass pulls, and stands on shaped bracket feet, adding to its elegant profile. The desk is accented by original brass hardware, including a sturdy fall-front lock plate. Ribbed columns and recessed paneling give the upper interior a classical touch.
