Antique Painted South Carolina Blanket Chest on Bracket Feet – 19th Century

South Carolina blanket chest. Lovey low land piece with warm patina, graceful footing, original straps and hardware. Crafted from solid wood and retaining traces of its original deep red paint, this chest embodies the utilitarian simplicity of early American design. Raised on classic bracket feet and featuring a lift-top lid, it offers ample interior storage for linens, quilts, or seasonal items. Subtle signs of age, including surface wear and two small pierced holes in the front panel, speak to its authentic history and use. Whether placed at the foot of a bed or used as a coffee table with hidden storage, this piece brings warmth and character to any interior.
Good antique condition with wear consistent with age.
